Janison are working with our partner Canopi to develop an exciting new course design platform as part of the delivery of a new ‘Play by the Rules’ course for the Australian Sports Commission. Play by the Rules encourages participants in sports, particularly coaches and parents to make sports a fun and safe social experience.
The ASC Learning Portal is one of our most successful learning portals, with a 5 year history and over 127,000 learners. Play by the Rules is expected to have tens of thousands of learner completions each year.
By working together with an extremely talented team of Sports people, Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, and Software Developers, we are building not only world-class instructional design, but also cutting edge software that makes the creation of beautiful courses easy and enjoyable.
Internally to Janison, the project is code-named Embryi. It involves the adoption of the latest Javascript, JQuery and Microsoft MVC technologies to simplify the design experience, and make course development a collaborative process with in-built review and task management tools.
The Embryi Course Designer will feature the ability to manage Content Authors for different user profiles. For example, NSW Swimming may have a specific ‘Code of Conduct’ screen that ‘overrides’ a generic ‘Code of Conduct’ screen. Learners with a NSW Swimmer profile would then see only the content that’s more specifically targeted at them. This way, Play by the Rules will be tailored to a range of audiences whilst the bulk of the investment in content remains in one easy-to-maintain spot.
Look out for its release in Jul / Aug this year to the ASC Learning Portal!
