Last year we sucessfully delivered the ESSA Science exam to around 40,000 students in NSW, all in a single day.
It was quite an achievement for our small team of developers and testers who worked long hours creating a system on the latest Microsoft cloud server platform, Azure.
As such our project was recognised for its innovation with a video case study from Microsoft.
Our next step is the 2011 version, which is now being quality assured before it has its first outing in schools in March.
Lots of new changes in this test, we have more support for different question types, multiple sections of questions and great intuitive dashboards to show students where they are up.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the students react to the improvements.
After March, our next big milestone is the rollout of the test to 80,000 students in October, that will really heat up the Azure servers.
